My Journey: From The Netherlands to Australia

I grew up in the beautiful village of Heemstede, The Netherlands—yes, close to Amsterdam ;-)—and just a stone’s throw from the beach.

After growing up in Heemstede, I pursued my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Business Administration in Nijmegen. University life was not just about studying; I lived it to the fullest. From being part of the student rowing association N.S.R.V. Phocas, to studying abroad in Manchester, and serving on the board of my sorority—I embraced every opportunity and tried to go with the flow as much as possible.

From Corporate Scrum Master to Entrepreneur

After graduation, I kick-started my career in the Young Professional Program at the start-up Tribers, where I became a Scrum Master. I immersed myself in agile coaching, facilitating workshops, and guiding business-IT teams at PostNL. While I loved coaching teams and improving processes, I realized while working for a start-up I also thrived in content creation, marketing, and bringing fresh ideas to life.

This realization led me to create Charlie’s FLOW—a business where I could combine my love for business coaching, marketing, and events.

An Unexpected Adventure & A New Home

After an incredible year at Tribers, I felt the pull of a bigger adventure. I finally set off (after Covid delayed my plans) on a solo journey through Southeast Asia and Australia for eight months. As expected, I discovered more about myself—but what I did not expect was to also find the love of my life. That is how I ended up moving to Dunsborough, Western Australia. Swapping the Nord Sea for the stunning Indian Ocean. And lucky me—I now live right in front of the beach.

Life Beyond Business

When I am not coaching or running Charlie’s FLOW, I fully embrace the laid-back South West lifestyle. You will find me:

• Training for my first marathon (Sydney, here I come!).

• Practicing yoga to balance it all out.

• Exploring new places and triggering my curiosity, and—of course—asking all the right questions.
